Need i say more.....
Posted by chezbasson at July 21, 2007 12:52 AMWell? Have you read it? If you have read it did you enjoy it? My wife cried. I haven't read the first one yet but now I am planning a marathon of all of the books. :)
Posted by: bernicky at August 2, 2007 10:19 PMI blitzed through it the weekend I bought it. I had to do a re-read of the last two chapters and the spot read here and there of book 6 because I couldn't remember it ;-). I really enjoyed it and thought it a good wrap up.
I then proceeded to start re-reading the last three books so just finished order of the Phoenix the other day and have now started Half-Blood Prince. Will re-read the last when after this one.
It's interesting to do the re-reads because some things are resolved in the final book that didn't were sort of briefly mentioned so didn't really stick in your mind and now that I am doing the re-read you sort of go ahh a lot!
If I knew where my first four books were I would have started all the way back at number one but they're buried somewhere. Guess I'll have to read the entire series later on ;-).
I didn't read my first Harry Potter until the first four books were written and the first movie came out. I was visiting my friends in England and their daughters had the books. I grabbed the books as my vacation reading when we went down to Spain for two weeks. I finished book 4 while waiting for our plane in Malaga, Spain to return to England. When we got back we all went to the local cinema to see the movie.
I'm not into fantasy or sci-fi (except star Wars) and such (never read Lord of the Rings and the movies (only saw first and bits of one of the others) bored me but I have been totally enchanted with the Harry Potter series and do enjoy re-reading the books periodically.
Yeah, the last one was a bit emotional, a lot happens in the book. Plus you have the realization that this is it, no more Harry Potter. I'm sort of torn between whether J.K. Rowling should stick to her guns and stop it there or if she should be persuaded to continue.
